APPLYING FOR AID USING THE CALIFORNIA DREAM APPLICATION

Students who are not eligible to file a FAFSA and qualify for the AB540 fee exemption can apply for certain types of financial aid by completing the California Dream Application.

The application is available from dream.csac.ca.gov.

DEADLINE: March 2nd (or the next business day if March 2nd falls on a weekend)

IF YOU SUBMIT YOUR CALIFORNIA DREAM APPLICATION AFTER MARCH 2ND (or the next business day if March 2nd falls on a weekend), YOUR FINANCIAL AID FILE WILL BE LATE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY GRANTS, LOANS, OR WORK-STUDY FUNDS.

The UCI school code is 001314.

You should print a copy of the confirmation for your records as proof that you submitted the Dream Application.

Application records are sent to the schools you list on the application each Monday. You will be contacted once your application has been reviewed.

Completing Your File:

After we review your Dream Application, you may be required to submit additional documentation to our office. We will notify you via email if additional information is required and you will be instructed to visit My Aid for details about the request.

YOU MUST SUBMIT ALL ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS REQUESTED BY THE DATE SPECIFIED - OTHERWISE YOUR FILE WILL BE LATE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY GRANTS, LOANS, OR WORK-STUDY FUNDS.

Please make sure the student's name and UCI Student ID # are clearly printed on the top of all documents you submit to our office. Be sure that all copies and entries are legible.

Background: The California Dream Acts - AB130 and AB131 - extend eligibility for certain types of institutional and state aid to students, including undocumented students, who qualify for benefits under another California law - AB540 - which exempts students from paying nonresident supplemental tuition.
