Eligibility Requirements:

The NMF California Community Service-Learning Program (CCSLP) is funded by a grant from the California Wellness Foundation, a private, independent foundation.

This program will award 10 qualified Californian medical students who demonstrate leadership at an early stage of their careers and a commitment to serving in medically underserved communities in California.

The NMF California Community Service-Learning Program Scholars will receive a $5,000 scholarship each to conduct a self-directed community health project of 200 hours at a community site of choice in an underserved community in California between February and June 2016. All projects and members must be approved by NMF.

Candidates must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited medical school in California
  • Be a U.S. citizen and identify with one of the following minority groups: African American, Latino, Native American, or Asian American (Vietnamese or Cambodian only)
