Receiving External Scholarships

Reporting External Scholarships
All external scholarship received by students need to be reported to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Log in to your "My Aid" account and submit the scholarship information under "Report My Changes." We will revise your financial aid offer to include the external scholarship(s). When revising your financial aid we will reduce loans and work-study first.

Receiving External Scholarships
The agency granting you the scholarship should make the scholarship check payable to "UC Regents" and mail it to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, 102 Aldrich Hall, Irvine, CA 92697. The agency should note your name and student ID number or date of birth on the check so that we can apply it to your account. Should the agency have specific conditions for disbusement, they should include those directions in a letter accompanying the check. Your external scholarship will be applied to your zot account when it's received.

Governor's Scholarship Program
To withdraw funds from your Governor's Scholarship Program Student Scholarship Account, you must complete a "Governor's Scholarship Program Qualified Withdrawal Form". Please mail the form to: Governor's Scholarship Programs, P.O Box 8227 Boston, MA 02266-8227. The form may be downloaded from their website at http://www.cagovernorsscholars.org.

Section II of the form requests "Withdrawal Information." Please complete Section II of the form as follows:

Amount of Withdrawal: $ Indicate the amount you wish to withdraw from your account

Check should be made payable to: UC Regents

Name of Eligible Educational Institution: University of California, Irvine

Mail Check to:
Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
102 Aldrich Hall
Irvine, CA 92697-2825

Please note that if you, the student, are a minor, the form must also be signed by your parents or legal guardian.

Please allow up to six weeks for a Qualified Withdrawal Form to be processed.
