UCI Opportunity Fund Scholarship

Application Deadline: Friday, April 7, 2017 5:00PM

Award Notification: May 2017

Award Amount: $3,000

Application Submission Process: Applicants must submit the UCI Opportunity Fund Scholarship Application to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

UCI is committed to reducing financial obstacles to degree obtainment for undocumented sutdents who show promising academic potential. The UCI Opportunity Fund, provided by the University of California Office of the President is designed to address the needs of students who have an undocumented citizenship status and are therefore, ineligible for Federal Financial Aid.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student
  • Undocumented citizenship status (priority given to students who do not currently have DACA status)
  • Minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA

Application Submission Process:

  1. Submit the UCI Opportunity Fund Scholarship Application to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships by April 7, 2017
  2. Submit an essay (maximum 500 words) addressing the following:
    1. Your education journey and your plans for the future
    2. How these funds would support your educational goals
