UC Irvine Grant

UC Irvine Grants are awarded on the basis of financial need and do not have to be repaid. The grant is provided by the University of California and is awarded to students who demonstrate the greatest financial need and have completed their financial aid application by the published deadlines.

WHO MAY APPLY
  • Full- and half-time undergraduate students in degree programs
  • U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens or students who meet AB540 criteria
  • California residents (NOTE: Beginning in 2016-17, non-resident students, with the exception of AB540 eligible students, will not be eligible for UC Irvine Grant)
HOW TO APPLY
  • File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Application by the March 2nd deadline
  • You must file the FAFSA/California Dream Application each year to continue to receive the grant
HOW AWARDS ARE DETERMINED
  • Based on financial eligibility
  • FAFSA filers: Grant amounts are generally in the amount of a student's remaining financial need after subtracting eligibility for federal and state grants and a self-help expectation (comprised of loans, work and/or savings) of $9,000 for most students for 2017-18.
  • California Dream Application filers: Grant amounts are generally in the amount of a student's remaining financial need after subtracting eligibility for state grants and a self-help expectation (comprised of loans, work and/or savings) of $9,000 for most students in 2017-18.
PRIORITY FILING DEADLINE
  • You must file your FAFSA/California Dream Application by the March 2nd deadline and submit all requested documents by the deadlines specified
