There are just a few more financial aid award programs you may be eligible for. Make sure to complete and file your FAFSA by the March 2nd deadline to be considered.

The Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant and the Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship are for students whose parents died as a result of specific military service or public service.

Who Can Apply?

Undergraduate students whose parent or guardian was a member of the U.S. armed forces and died as a result of performing military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after the events of 9/11.

Annual Amount

Varies, based on need and the Expected Family Contribution on your FAFSA.

Enrollment Requirements

6 or more units.

Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship


Who Can Apply

Pell-eligible students whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer.

Student must be less than 24 years of age or enrolled at an institution of higher education at the time of their parent’s or guardian’s death.

Annual Amount

Varies, based on need and the Expected Family Contribution on your FAFSA.

Enrollment Requirements

6 or more units.
