The American Association of University Women (AAUW) scholarship is awarded to mature female students who have experienced a break in attendance in their educational career due to circumstances beyond their control.

AAUW is aware that some women must leave college before understanding their degrees due to circumstances beyond their control. The Laguna Beach Branch of AAUW has established a scholarship program to assist such women as they re-enter an academic program. The scholarship is designed to support a woman attending the University of California, Irvine majoring in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics). Eligible schools at UCI are: School of Biological Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Information and Computer Sciences and the School of Physical Sciences.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Undergraduate female student in a STEM discipline
  • Experienced a break in her attendance at a California Community College, California State University or University of California due to circumstances beyond her control
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
