Dean's Award for Community Engagement

Award Notification: May 2018

Award Amount: $1,500

Application Submission Process: Submit an on-line scholarship application which will be available Monday, January 15, 2018 on "My Aid".

The Dean's Award for Community Engagement recognizes undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Social Ecology who contribute their talents and become active members of the community while they are pursuing their academic degrees. Contributions and support by alumni make this award possible.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Full-time student enrolled in the School of Social Ecology
  • Undergraduates
    • Cumulative 3.0 GPA
    • Participate and engage in community services
    • Demonstrate scholarly achievement
    • Write a short essay that addresses your engagement in community service
    • Provide two (2) Letters of Recommendation (one from a faculty member and one from a community organization representative) to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship by Monday, March 26, 2018 11:59 PM. The letter should address how you have excelled in community service and/or academically
  • Graduates
    • Cumulative 3.0 GPA
    • Have an impact on a community through your research
    • Demonstrate scholarly achievement
    • Write a short essay that addresses how your research impacts (or will impact) the community
    • Provide one (1) letter of recommendation from a faculty member or community organization representative to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship by Monday, March 26, 2018 11:59 PM. The letter should address how your research impacts the community and how you have excelled academically
