The Strauss Scholarship

Application Deadline: Monday, March 26, 2018 11:59 PM

Award Notification: May 2018

Award Amount: $4,500

Application Submission Process: Submit an on-line scholarship application which will be available Monday, January 15, 2018 on "My Aid".

The Strauss Scholarship is given to meritorious Social Ecology students who are interested in and planning for a career in Public Service. Public service includes government at any level, public interest organizations, non-government research and/or educational organizations, and public service oriented non-profit organizations such as those whose primary purposes are to help disadvantaged persons or to protect the environment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Full time junior-level student within the School of Social Ecology
  • Any major within School of Social Ecology
  • Must be a graduating senior by June 2019
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Interested in and planning for a career in Public Service
  • Separately provide two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships by the application deadline, Monday, March 26, 2018.
  • Applicants must indicate in their personal statement their aspirations and plans for a career in public service
